Can you see one cat or two? Clue: It’s furry easy!
Look ear! Lucy the puppy IF you give this photograph a quick first glance, you may be taken for a ride. The image appears to show a black cat enjoying a piggyback on its mostly white companion.
But if you look a little closer, you will see that there is only one puss in the picture. The dark fur on its back gives the illusion of another cat craftily hitching a lift.
The mysterious moggy has caused a stir on social media, where it has been dubbed Metacat. Cat tache: Kitten in Japan One Twitter user wrote: ‘A cat...within a cat...catception.’ Another likened the effect to ‘one of those dresses that you’re meant to wear to make you look thinner’.
In February a photograph of Lucy the puppy went viral. Born in New York, she had markings on her ear that looked like a tiny picture of a dog’s face.
And in July, images of a Japanese kitten with a silhouette of another cat on its nose were shared.
