Why disposable cameras click with the young

-

in an age of selfies and Snapchat, the disposable camera is making an unlikely return – because young people are sick of seeing fake photos.

packed alongside the sun cream and swimming costumes, the disposable camera was an essential for any holidaymaker in the 1990s.

But with a maximum of 27 photos per roll, users had to carefully choose what they snapped.

However, this year Japanese camera firm Fujifilm is expecting to sell 7.5million globally, up from 6.5million.

david Honey of Fujifilm said: ‘Billions of mobile images are uploaded every day. people take multiple pictures of the same shot and edit them endlessly.

‘the result is they are creating perfect images of themselves... a fake life. people are rebelling against that.’

Fujifilm’s 35mm Quicksnap camera, costing £5.99, has been praised by younger users and Mr Honey said: ‘they love retro because they believe the past is a beautiful place and they want to recreate it.’
