Bookies kick off the name game

IF the third royal baby is a girl, Alice is the bookmakers’ favourite name – and Arthur if it is a boy.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will keep it classic, as they did for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Alice is a traditional royal name, given to one of Queen Victoria’s daughters and to the Duke of Edinburgh’s mother. Early odds for Alice were 7-1 while Arthur had odds of 10-1. Alexandra and Albert were both 12-1.

The middle names could be more interesting if the Middleton lineage is acknowledged, with Dorothy and Francis as options.
