No-frills flight to India for £150

-

A NO-FRILLS airline has sparked a price war by promising flights to India for just £150, and £350 return. The price for a trip to Mumbai knocks almost £100 off the best deals on the market right now.

Scoot, which is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is expected to operate the flights from its Manchester base. The airline, whose slogan is ‘escape the ordinary’, also offers direct flights from Singapore to Athens costing from around £350 return.

India’s two biggest low- cost airlines, SpiceJet and IndiGo, are also said to be planning direct routes from Gatwick.

But passengers cannot be certain that the cheap fares to India will ever become available. Ryanair backtracked on a pledge it made in 2014 to launch flights to New York for under £10.
