Boothroyd backs Gray to shine
DEMARAI GRAY will be given the chance to banish his transfer window disappointment after Aidy Boothroyd explained how the Leicester man was affected by uncertainty over his future. Gray was the subject of interest from Bournemouth on deadline day and was eager to link up with Eddie Howe. But a £25million bid was rejected, leaving Gray frustrated and England’s Under 21 head coach took the decision not to start him in the first game of their Euro 2019 qualification campaign in Holland last Friday. Yet Boothroyd believes Gray is now in the right frame of mind and he could start the forward against Latvia tonight. ‘I would have no worries about starting him against Latvia, even though it (the match) is at Bournemouth,’ said Boothroyd. ‘I know it won’t make a difference to Demarai.’
