Not seeing eye to eye

-

HOW wonderful for the lady with a cataract in Kent who was diagnosed and had an operation on the NHS in just a week (Letters).

My husband also has a cataract that is so bad he is almost blind in his left eye, and his quality of life is much diminished.

We have been told it will be 18 weeks from referral until he can have an operation. We are considering

paying privately at a cost of £8,000, as we can’t wait until the NHS can fit him in. This seems to be a case of the postcode lottery. SUZANNE HUTCHINGS, Midsomer Norton, Somerset.
