Gambling victim

THE gambling company 888 has been fined a record sum for failing to protect problem gamblers who had requested they be banned (Mail).

I’m the parent of a gambler, and I was almost driven to suicide because of all the worry his problem has caused me. I thought that would be the only way I could get any peace.

Fortunately, a passer-by hauled me out of the river, drove me home and listened as I told my story punctuated by sobs. Sadly, I’ve had to cut my son out of my life. It’s the only way I could preserve my health and sanity.
