Bowie’s secret passion for Coronation Street!

-

DAVID Bowie was so addicted to Coronation Street that tapes of the show were ferried to him on tour in the late Seventies.

The star even timed the intervals of his concerts so he could watch a full episode of his favourite soap, according to Rory MacLean, a travel writer who befriended Bowie in Berlin.

MacLean explains in Dylan Jones’s new biography David Bowie: a Life: ‘what Bowie would do is go to the green room and sit down with a vHS and watch Coronation Street.

‘every night. i thought, this is glorious!’

Bowie retained a fondness for British Tv shows when he moved to New York, demanding DvDs of Life on Mars and The office.
