George’s £150 uniform (and dad’s £675 blazer)

-

IT was a big day for a little prince, and George looked extra smart in his uniform – which had been immaculately pressed for the occasion.

He was in Thomas’s School’s summer uniform, which includes a light blue short-sleeved shirt, costing £22, and navy Bermuda-style shorts, which would have set William and Kate back £23 a pair.

To top it off he wore the school’s compulsory £25 navy V-neck pullover with red trim and embroidered school logo.

His navy cotton socks are £5 for a pack of five. The brand of his beautifully polished black loafers was unknown, but similar ones from Kate’s favourite children’s store, Trotters, cost from £62.

Prince William was carrying his son’s school backpack for him – which costs £13 and, like all the other items, is available from Thomas’s official uniform supplier, John Lewis.

The proud father had also dressed up for his son’s big day, in a smart-casual look that was perfect for the occasion.

He combined a tailored shirt and a £6 5 single-breasted blazer, thought to be from his favourite Mayfair tailors Richard James, with chinos, a brown leather plaited belt and matching suede Russell and Bromley desert boots.

With his relaxed body language and the fact his shirt collar was open, William looked very much the young, modern father on the school run.

He certainly looked much more comfortable in the fashion department than Prince Charles did on Harry’s first day at school – when he wore a tie, plaid suit and polished black brogues.
