Green light for Clarkson in Cotswolds
IT looks like it is full speed ahead for Jeremy Clarkson’s plans to film his motoring show The Grand Tour in the Cotswolds.
Despite neighbours’ fury over the ‘ totally inappropriate’ proposal, Clarkson’s crew has been given the green light to shoot the Amazon Prime show in a marquee on the Great Tew Estate near Chipping Norton.
In an attempt to appease locals, who claimed the extra traffic on narrow country lanes would create a hazard for horse riders and walkers, filming will be restricted to ten days, with no more than two filming days per week.
As a further condition, the council says: ‘ No filming shall take place unless a traffic management plan has been agreed.’
locals say that Great Tew is already blighted by the influx of Chelsea tractors heading to the super-trendy members’ club soho Farmhouse, and that Clarkson’s film set will aggravate the ‘significant’ traffic problems.
