IN THIS warm but never saccharine new comingof-age U.S. series, Andi (Peyton Elizabeth, pictured) is turning 13 when her life is upended by the return of her sister, Bex — who’s so cool that she rides a huge motorbike and wears a leather jacket. But is Bex as together as she seems? A very nicely judged show. (Sky 609, Virgin 724)

THE Rams lost out to the Tigers in the 2016 play-off semi-finals and Derby will want to get their own back at home today. Derby’s striker David Nugent has already been among the goals this season.

CLASSICAL CONCERT BBC Proms 2017, 7.30pm, BBC4

MISSY MAZZOLI’S dazzling Sinfonia (For Orbiting Spheres) has its European premiere as the opener to tonight’s concert. Then, Bartok’s punchy and challengin­g Piano Concerto No 2 is followed by Dvorak’s comparativ­ely soothing Symphony No 8.

MEDIEVAL FANTASY Arthur & Merlin, 8pm, Sky Family

THIS low-budget British indie offers a reimagined origin story for King Arthur and co. The dialogue is clunky — fantasy fans may be more forgiving — but its ambition is admirable.

BELGIAN CRIME Professor T, 9pm, More4

IT’S easy for quirky characters to become clownish cliches, but crime expert Professor T is showing no signs of that yet — if anything, he’s underplaye­d. Tonight, we receive insight into how the professor relaxes, before he begins the case of a missing student whose room was scrubbed of DNA.

BACK ON TRACK Railroad Alaska, 9pm, Quest

THE big trains hauling big equipment in this returning reality series are fun — tonight, they’re retrieving a bulldozer from a lake — but it’s the characters who really make the show worth watching. Step forward maverick Jim James, who is showing us his specially adapted chain saw. ‘When I started using it, I had two hands’.
