Loo roll maker’s boss moves on

-

THE boss of tissue roll maker Accrol has quit after a year at the firm.

Steve Crossley, who took on the top post last June, has resigned to ‘pursue other interests’.

The 59-year- old had steered the company through its initial public offering last year, when it floated on AIM at 100p per share.

Accrol, which produces tissue roll for discount supermarkets Lidl and Aldi, declined to say what had sparked the sudden departure of the chief executive. But it revealed that it had appointed Gareth Jenkins, the ex-managing director of packaging company DS Smith, as his replacement.

Chairman Peter Cheung said: ‘ We are very pleased to be joined by someone of Gareth’s calibre, and we look forward to benefiting from his wealth of experience built during a 24-year career at DS Smith. I would like to thank Steve for the contribution that he has made to Accrol, in particular his contribution to a successful IPO, and we wish him well for the future.’

Shares yesterday fell 4.2pc, or 6p, to 136.5p.
