BLOWERS’S ODD BIRDS

THIS is Blowers’s (right) last Test on radio. A great voice, he can paint a picture, and he’s a sucker for facts. Agnew and I used to send in fake faxes and Blowers used to read a lot of them out. There’d be invites to attend odd functions for huge sums of money — like the West Riding Pigeon Fanciers Association. We never had the heart to say these people didn’t exist . . .
