Cliff the calendar boy (aged 76) is back to his vest

- By Susie Coen

HE has been through the worst of times...but Cliff Richard wants his fans to know the best of times are back.

And if the smiling portraits in his 2018 calendar are anything to go by, the 76-year-old singer is enjoying top form again.

Each month shows off a different side of the man known as much for his youthful looks as his record- breaking album sales.

With more than 1.5million calendars sold over four decades, his role as a pin-up boy is still going strong. Next year’s calendar has a designer feel, with pictures taken on Barbados, where he has a £6million home. The cover photo shows Sir Cliff, in crisp white shirt, toasting his fans with a tropical drink as he sits in a wicker chair.

In January, he poses in a blue denim jacket with upturned collar while in August he shows off a remarkably toned and tanned chest in a short-sleeved shirt knotted at the waist.

This is the 9th year the star has released a calendar, which has consistently sailed into the top 10 bestsellers list.

Last year, as he faced the aftermath of a wrongful raid on his home by police investigating sex abuse allegations, his calendar featured classic black and white potrtraits of him in his youth.

2018 is going to be an exciting year for Sir Cliff. On October 14, his 77th birthday, he will announce plans to mark his 60 years in showbusiness since his 1958 debut hit, Move It.

He was recently awarded ‘substantial damages’ from South Yorkshire Police and the force apologised for its ‘unlawful’ raid in connection with allegations of sex abuse that were unfounded.

He is still in the process of suing the BBC which filmed live coverage of the search and any trial is expected to take place next year.

Sir Cliff’s official 2018 Calendar is on sale in Calendar Club, WHSmith and all good retailers now or buy online at www. danilo.com.
