Dame Helen won best actress for her performance in The Queen in 2007, while Miss Thompson, 58, took best adapted screenplay for Sense and Sensibility in 1996, and best actress for Howard’s End in 1993. Miss Kidman, 50, won best actress for The Hours in 200 . Dame Kristin, 57, missed out on best actress in 1997 for her role in the English Patient.
