Is your pillow ruining your skin?

We’ve ALL heard pillows can cause wrinkles, but did you know they may also be giving you spots?

Dr Justine Hextall, consultant dermatolog­ist from The Harley Medical Group, says: ‘If you don’t change your pillowcase often, then there can be a build-up of dead skin cells, bacteria and the products you apply before bed, which can cause breakouts.’

Switch to silk pillows, which are less absorbent when it comes to overnight skincare regimes. Try a lighter night cream, too, such as Olay Regenerist 3 Point Age-Defying Night Cream (£20, Boots), which plumps skin as you sleep.
