Hodgson is a target for Palace job

- By SAMI MOKBEL

CRYSTAL PALACE are set to accelerate their search for a new manager after Frank de Boer’s disastrous start continued with a 1-0 defeat at Burnley yesterday. Sam Allardyce and Roy Hodgson are two of the candidates under consideration, with De Boer on the brink of becoming the first managerial casualty of the Premier League season. His team slumped to their fourth successive defeat of the season at Turf Moor. Palace are the first top-flight side in 93 years to lose their first four games without scoring a goal. Chairman Steve Parish said: ‘We are four games in. It’s a terrible start but we have to stick together. People are frustrated. I’m frustrated, so are the management and players. I’ll stand my record up against any chairman we’ve had in 118 years. ‘We’ve spent £70million since January and sold one player.’
