YouTube star attacked over new racial slur
THE world’s highest paid YouTube star has come under fire for using a racial slur. Swede Felix Kjellberg, 27, who goes by the name PewDiePie, used the n-word while playing a video game during a live streaming broadcast. He later added ‘I don’t mean that in a bad way’.
The controversial video blogger, who reportedly made £11million last year from advertisers, has over 57million subscribers on YouTube.
Now gaming developer Sean Vanaman of Campo Santo studios, says he he intends to make Kjellberg, pictured, remove all videos of him playing his company’s titles. He said: ‘I am sick of this child getting more and more chances to make money off what we make.’
In February, the YouTuber lost partnerships with Disney after some of his videos were found to contain Nazi references or anti-Semitic imagery.
Last year, he was temporarily suspended from Twitter after making a joke about Islamic State.
