Grenfell overhaul

-

JoHn laing Infrastructure has said it will not be significantly hit having to overhaul its buildings following the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

The property investor has checked if any of the 63 building projects across its portfolio contained aluminium composite, a cheap, flammable material which was blamed in part for the Grenfell fire in June.

The audit found the material in just one high-rise building, or around 0.5pc of John laing’s portfolio, with the company adding it is now working to ensure the safety of the block’s residents.

Shares in the firm rose 0.5pc, or 1.5p to 291.5p.
