McALLISTER ANGRY AS WOLVES RESCUE POINT
BRISTOL CITY coach Jamie McAllister accused Wolves of bad sportsmanship after ref Steve Martin lectured the managers following a touchline bust-up involving coaching staff from both teams.
The row erupted after Wolves’ Danny Batth clashed heads with City’s Bailey Wright. McAllister said: ‘We felt aggrieved because we were concerned for the safety of our player and they just wanted a penalty. There was another incident when we gave them the ball when their player was injured and they didn’t give it back. That was poor, it was bad sportsmanship.’
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo said: ‘ The ref just wanted everybody to relax. Lee Johnson and I have known each other a long time — the row was between the staff who were arguing. That’s football.’
Batth’s late header earned a point after Bobby Reid’s sixth goal of the season had looked like giving City a first win at Molineux since 1931. Wolves led through Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota, but were pegged back by Aden Flint and Famara Diedhiou’s spot-kick.
