Clubber ‘slipped aphrodisiac in friend’s cocktail to get her in bed’

- Daily Mail Reporter

A MAN spiked his friend’s strawberry cocktail with a herbal aphrodisiac to try to get her to have sex with him, a court heard.

Shervin Dorostkar, 30, allegedly slipped ‘ Spanish Goldfly’ into the woman’s glass at an upmarket club.

According to its manufacturers, Spanish Goldfly is a ‘100 per cent natural’ aphrodisiac, which leads to ‘a volcanic eruption of ultimate passion and a feeling of intense sexual desire and lust’.

The pair met on Facebook and went out several times but there was no romance between them, Southwark Crown Court heard. On May 13 last year, Dorostkar picked the woman up from her home at 11.30pm and took her to the Kensington Roof Gardens in west London. She was under the impression he was bringing friends but they never arrived.

At about 1.10am, Dorostkar, an Iranian national, bought her a strawberry cocktail – despite the fact she was not allowed alcohol because of a stomach ulcer.

Bar staff saw Dorostkar making an ‘unusual movement’ with his hands beneath the bar before taking the drink to his friend, who was sat at a table. As she took a sip, staff rushed over and asked her if she was okay, before telling her the drink may have been spiked.

Prosecutor Matthew Dalton said: ‘It is said that Shervin Dorostkar, on May 14, 2016, intentionally administered a substance to her, knowing that she did not consent, with the intent of stupefying or overpowering her in order to engage in sexual activity.’

Mr Dalton added that Dorostkar had asked the woman to say she had known about the aphrodisiac. Mr Dalton said: ‘She then received text messages from the defendant at 1.58am in the morning saying, “Tell them you know”.’ The woman, who cannot be identified, struggled to hold back tears at court after admitting she had ‘trusted’ him.

She said: ‘I was shocked, I was shaking. I did not know what was going to happen to me as I am so obsessed by my health condition. He said to me please tell them you know these things. Tell them you are my girlfriend, I just wanted to have sex.’ She added that Dorostkar had begged her: ‘Please, I want to get my British passport, don’t get me into trouble.’

CCTV footage of the incident was reviewed on the night by the bar manager.

Dorostkar, who appeared in court with a Farsi interpreter, was detained and was looking nervous when police arrived, Mr Dalton added.

A sachet was later found by the bar labelled ‘Goldfly sex drops’. The substance, which was originally made from crushed dried beetles and dirt, now contains plant and animal extracts. Dorostkar insisted the drops were for him as he wanted to ‘get more activity’ and ‘energy’ despite having drunk nine or ten vodka Red Bulls.

Dorostkar, of Perivale in west London, denies attempting to administer a substance with intent to stupefy or overpower to allow sexual activity.

The trial continues.
