Why It is not a hit with clowns

-

The remake of Stephen King movie It has led to a massive drop in demand for clowns, performers have said.

The claims were led by clown Malcolm Singleton, 62, who said bookings have dropped 30 per cent since trailers featuring killer clown Pennywise, pictured, appeared on TV.

He said the film is ‘just another nail in the coffin’ for the industry.

World Clown Association president Pam Moody, from the US, said the film ‘has nothing to do with pro clowning’.

But there are fears damage has already been done. Mr Singleton, of Darling, County Durham, said: ‘People see a clown now and think they are evil killers’.
