Car maker Ford is developing signals for selfdriving cars to communicate with pedestrians. It teamed up with Virginia Tech Transportation Institute to test the car, using two white lights to show it was about to stop, a solid white light to show it was self- driving, and rapid, blinking lights to show it was accelerating from a stop.
