UK MAKE-UP sales were hit by terrorism and the general election in the second quarter, according to cosmetics firm Warpaint.
In its maiden results, the firm – which sells face make-up, foundation, lipstick, and other cosmetics through its flagship brand W7 – said like-for-like pre-tax profits slipped from £3m to £2.8m over the six months to June 30.
It put this down mainly to the cost of sales and administrative expenses. Shares fell 14.6pc, or 27.5p, to 175p.
