Trump vows ‘lots of trade’
DONALD Trump last night pledged that America would be doing ‘a lot of trading’ with Britain after Brexit.
Speaking ahead of a meeting with Theresa May in New York, he said close relations with the UK would carry on after we leave. He added: ‘We will be doing a lot of trading with the United Kingdom and we look forward to it.’
Mr Trump said he had established a ‘great’ relationship with Mrs May since she became the first world leader to visit him in January. The Prime Minister said there had already been ‘ many discussions between our representatives and ourselves on a whole variety of issues, including trade.’
On Monday she visited Canada, whose leader Justin Trudeau called for a ‘seamless transition’ to a post-Brexit deal.
