ENERGY bar maker Science in Sport ran out of breath after reporting a loss in the first half of the year.
The firm, which makes sports nutrition products for professional athletes, saw revenues climb £8.3m over the period against a backdrop of rising ingredient prices and increasing competition in the protein product market.
But costs from an international and online expansion led it to record a loss of £1.1m over the period. Shares fell 2.5pc, or 2p, to 77.5p.
