GUNDOGAN EYES CHELSEA

- JACK GAUGHAN

ILKAY GUNDOGAN hopes his latest knee injury is not too serious and wants to be available for Manchester City’s trip to Chelsea a week tomorrow. The midfielder came off during Wednesday’s EFL Cup victory over West Brom after Claudio Yacob’s mistimed tackle. It was Gundogan’s first start following a nine-month recovery from a cruciate knee-ligament injury. Gundogan (left), who yesterday had tests at the City football academy, had spent most of this year nursing his right knee back to health and Yacob’s challenge hurt his left.
