TROUBLED Avocet Mining warned investors it could run out of money.

The firm has been negotiating a restructuring of its balance sheet with creditors in a bid to keep its struggling Burkina Faso mine open after a series of disruptions.

But yesterday it warned that it is unclear whether a restructure can be agreed before all its money has been exhausted.

Nevertheless, optimistic investors led shares to rise 1.1pc, or 0.25p, to 23.12p.
