...and he rants at the Mail
THE Labour leader attacked the Daily Mail yesterday for exposing his past role as an apologist for terror groups.
He singled out the Mail for its reports on the day before the election when we devoted 14 pages to scrutinising Labour.
Coverage included Mr Corbyn’s 2009 invitation to Parliament for his ‘friends’ in the Palestinian groups Hamas and Hezbollah, and his 1987 observance of a minute’s silence for eight IRA
men shot dead by the SAS. Also highlighted was Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell’s 2003 call for IRA terrorists to be ‘honoured’.
Reports also included Diane Abbott’s 1984 declaration on Northern Ireland that ‘every defeat of the British state is a victory for all of us’.
Mr Corbyn said: ‘The day before the election one paper devoted 14 pages to attacking the Labour Party. And our vote went up nearly 10 per cent.’
