Creation of a chicken giant

-

A NEW fresh chicken behemoth is being created by a tie-up between two poultry businesses.

British firm Faccenda Foods – which processes more than 100m chickens and turkeys a year – is joining forces with US business Cargill, bringing together 6,000 of their employees in the UK.

The venture, which will be equally owned by both firms, will be led by Faccenda managing director Andy Dawkins while Chris Hall, fresh chicken director for Cargill Meats Europe, will take the role of chief commercial officer.

The tie-up will not include Cargill’s cooked poultry business in Balliol, Wolverhampton, its poultry import, trading and distribution arm, or its operations in France, Russia and the Netherlands.
