SINCLAIR SEALS GOLDEN NIGHT FOR CELTIC

-

CELTIC got their campaign up and running with a 3-0 win at Anderlecht. Leigh Griffiths’ seventh goal of the season and Patrick Roberts’ deflected strike put Celtic in control, before ex-Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair sealed a famous win with the last kick of the game. It was the Scots’ first away win in the group stages since 2012 at Spartak Moscow. ‘The overall performance was absolutely outstanding,’ said Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. ‘You can see we’re growing at this level and the three goals were absolutely fantastic. The boys deserve a great amount of credit.’ In the other match in Group B, Bayern Munich’s 3-0 defeat at Paris Saint-Germain leaves Celtic level with the German giants on three points. PSG ripped Bayern apart on the counter-attack, with Dani Alves, Edinson Cavani and Neymar on the scoresheet. In Manchester United’s group, 10-man Benfica crumbled 5-0 away at Basle.
