cricketer Ben Stokes (now suspended) is caught on a video throwing punches in the street. England footballer Wayne Rooney is caught drink driving a woman who is NHW (Not His Wife). Both sportsmen are adored by millions and paid a fortune, but take their talent for granted and their responsibilities as men and husbands lightly. They fail to realise how privileged they are and drag their sports into disrepute, not to mention disappointing their fans, mentors, bosses and teammates. It is hard not to contrast their behaviour with the heroism and pluck of the Invictus games athletes, who have overcome terrible injury and the worst of luck to triumph again in the sporting arena. Easy to differentiate between the idiots and the heroes here.
