Palmer draws up change of plan for Architecture

- MARCUS TOWNEND

Trainer Hugo Palmer is leaning towards dropping filly architecture down in class and trip for a tilt at this month’s Pride Stakes at newmarket.

although the four-year-old holds an entry in the British Champions Fillies’ & Mares’ Stakes at ascot the newmarket handler is instead favouring an outing in the mile and a quarter Listed contest on Saturday week.

architecture, who finished second in last year’s english and irish Oaks, was a respectable third on her seasonal comeback in a Group Three race at newbury last month.

Meanwhile, roaring Lion, winner of Saturday’s royal Lodge Stakes at newmarket for John Gosden, has the option of running at the Breeders Cup in america next month or in the racing Post Trophy at Doncaster at the end of this month.

TODAY’S meeting at newton abbot must pass an earlymorning inspection.
