Liverpool flop but Klopp won’t write off title bid
JURGEN Klopp says liverpool should not be written off as title contenders despite another unconvincing display in yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Newcastle.
The German boss was tetchy when pressed afterwards on his team’s record of one victory in seven games in all competitions. liverpool are already seven points adrift of premier league leaders Manchester City after squandering a string of chances at St James’ park, where philippe Coutinho’s stunning opener was cancelled out by Joselu.
Klopp (right) said: ‘We’re having our hard moment — other teams will have their hard moment. We need to work on our thing and I really think it looks like we are not far away from being a real challenger.
‘If we do what we are good at, we can score more goals, we will win more games and we will close the gap.’
