SCEPTICISM AS ISLAMIC STATE CLAIMS KILLER
ISLAMIC State yesterday claimed responsibility for the mass shooting in what appeared to be a desperate propaganda stunt.
The terror group put out a statement claiming shooter Stephen Paddock was a ‘soldier of the Islamic State’ who had been ‘converted to Islam several months ago’.
But the FBI dismissed the claim – saying there was nothing in Paddock’s background to suggest he had become a follower of IS.
The group, which referred to the Las Vegas attacker by a nom de guerre ‘Abu AbdalBar al-Ameriki’, has claimed to be behind an increasing number of attacks recently only to be found later to have no link to them at all.
