Football League clubs set to revolt over window plan
THE Football League is facing a rebellion from clubs over a plan to close the transfer window early in line with the Premier League. Chief executive Shaun Harvey believed that enough clubs were happy with the proposal when it was discussed at an EFL meeting last month. Disgruntled owners have told
Sportsmail they do not back the plan, saying it was not properly discussed when with all 72 clubs at met Villa Park. They argued that the EFL added the item to the agenda five days before the meeting, not giving them time to assess the implications. A growing number of clubs in Leagues One and Two are willing to meet separately to discuss their next move.
