He hid ‘lookout’ cameras on trolley
THE Las Vegas shooter put hidden cameras on a room-service trolley outside his hotel room to warn him of an approaching police raid.
Stephen Paddock also had cameras hidden in his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel casino, from where he shot dead 59 people at an open-air concert.
Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo last night outlined the extraordinary preparations Paddock made. ‘There were cameras located outside of the room and inside the room. He was looking for anyone coming to take him into custody.’
Sheriff Lombardo said Paddock had ordered room service before the shooting spree.
It came as Google was caught in a fresh storm after it ran advertisements for public services next to shocking gun videos on YouTube. Dozens of films show people how to use ‘bump stocks’ to turn semi-automatic rifles into fully automatic weapons like those used by Paddock.
Labour’s Yvette Cooper, chairman of the home affairs select committee, said advertisers would be ‘shocked and appalled’ by the placement.
YouTube said the videos flagged did not breach its ‘content and monetisation polCameras: icies’ as they did not incite violence.
