Spanish trial for UK hate preacher
A UK- based hate preacher suspected of radicalising a Paris terrorist and recruiting scores of Islamic State jihadis will be extradited to stand trial in Spain.
Tarik Chadlioui, 43, pictured, raked in £ 20,000 posting preaching videos on YouTube and Facebook including a clip filmed from a children’s playground near his home in Birmingham. Spanish authorities say his videos encouraged scores of young people to fight for IS in Syria.
The Mail revealed in June how Chadlioui had lived in the UK for two years despite his links to a Bataclan attacker.
The Moroccan-born cleric, said to be the ‘spiritual leader’ of a terror cell, is accused of flying to Majorca to make recruitment videos and holding secret meetings to recruit young people to fight in conflict zones. The imam, who lives with his wife and eight children in Birmingham, faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
