SO, WHO IS JACK BURNHAM? ?

JACK BURNHAM was born in Durham on January 18, 1997.

He is a homegrown product of the county’s academy system, having played for the club from Under 9 level. He scored 22 runs as a seven-year-old in his first Under 9 match against Cumbria.

Right-handed batsman. Also bowls right-arm medium pace.

Made his first-class debut for Durham in August 2015, against Yorkshire at Scarboroug­h. Out for a duck in his first innings, he hit a half-century in the second as Yorkshire won by 183 runs.

Top scored in the Under 19 World Cup in Bangladesh in early 2016, scoring 420 runs for England including three centuries.

Became the thirdyoung­est player to score a first-class century for Durham with 135 in the first innings against Surrey at The Oval in May 2016.

Signed a new two-year deal with Durham last month.
