18 years for Somali killer who tried to get deported
A SOMALI illegal immigrant who tried to get himself deported a day after he stabbed a handyman to death in the street was jailed for 18 years yesterday.
Mohamed Abdillahi, 25, and four friends savagely attacked 27-year-old Augustus Fenton ‘like wild animals’ in Southall, West London. His brother Elijah, 41, was also stabbed when he intervened.
Abdillahi, of no fixed address, had been fighting deportation but contacted immigration officers the day after the killing and asked to be sent back to Somalia.
He denied murder and wounding with intent but admitted violent disorder. He was convicted of manslaughter and wounding Elijah Fenton.
He will be deported at the end of his sentence.
