ROBERT PLANT is in the Maida Vale Studio this morning for 6 MUSIC LIVE (BBC 6 MUSIC, 10AM). The former Led Zeppelin front man (pictured) will be joined by the fiddle player Seth Lakeman for a session of music from Plant and the Sensationa­l Space Shifters’ new album, Carry Fire.

BARBARA SMITH is in her 90s and likes to give money to good causes. She is a warm-hearted woman with a keen social conscience, who says she enjoys using some of her money to help others. What Barbara doesn’t like — and she is not alone in this — is being bombarded with pleas for donations by charities that she hasn’t supported. With the help of radio producer Lydia Thomas, Barbara sets out to find out why she is constantly being contacted by charities. In the course of SELLING BARBARA

(RADIO 4, 11AM), she discovers that her name, address and other details are being used in a web of buying and selling by the UK’s biggest charities.
