SHARES in online travel agency On The Beach soared as investors took comfort in news that the firm had put the worst of the Monarch Airlines collapse behind it.

The Manchester-based company said that it has been in contact with customers who are stuck in resorts to assist with their return home, and that it will be reaching out to those who have booked flights with Monarch in the coming weeks.

Shares were up 5.4pc, or 22.25p, to 429.25p.
