...as Apple introduces these androgynous emojis

APPLE has unveiled gender-neutral emojis for the iPhone.

The emojis – tiny pictures used in text messages – include an elderly person with short grey hair and glasses, and an adult and a youngster whose hair ends just below the ears.

All three, above, have androg- ynous features and are available in other skin and hair colours.

They are among dozens of emojis coming out next week, including a hedgehog, mermaid and a head of broccoli. Currently, emojis of people feature long hair for girls and short crops for boys.
