£1.1bn payment probed

WATCHDOGS are probing Standard Chartered over a £ 1.1bn cash transfer for clients based in Indonesia.

The Indonesians were reportedly linked to the military and had tens of millions of pounds of assets, despite earning income of just tens of thousands of pounds a year. They were moving money between Guernsey and Singapore. Bank staff contacted regulators.
