-

A WOMAN who allegedly tried to scale the gates of Buckingham Palace in front of bemused tourists has been charged with being drunk and disorderly.

Jessica Davey, 35, was arrested by two uniformed police officers on Saturday evening after allegedly trying to break into the Queen’s residence.

Video of the aftermath of the incident appeared to show Davey, of Queen’s Park, west London, being dragged away from the wrought-iron fence surrounding the palace by two male officers before being bundled into a police car.

Cheers could be heard from nearby onlookers as she was escorted in handcuffs by the officers.

Davey is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court later today. She was remanded in custody at the weekend pending her court appearance.

If found guilty, Davey could face a jail term of up to six months.
