The world no 4 was pegged back to 7-7 having been 7-5 up, but pulled away and beat the former world champion 9-7. He sealed the final frame with a classy century break to win the title for the second year in a row, having beaten Ronnie O’Sullivan in the 2016 final. Trump, 28, said: ‘Any game against Stuart I know is going to be tough. I just got the luck at the right times.’
