LEAGUE TWO THIS WEEKEND

- TOM FARMERY

HERO OF THE WEEK

MARK COOPER. It’s been a tough start to life in the Football League for Forest Green. After three straight defeats, they were bottom of the table, with manager Cooper under immense pressure, but a hard-fought 1-1 draw at high- flying Notts County on Saturday moved them out of the relegation zone.

ZERO OF THE WEEK

STEvE EvANS. The Mansfield manager was touted for the Gillingham job last week, but maybe the controversial 54- year- old should concentrate on matters closer to home. His side, backed by significant investment, were tipped by some to win the league. A 2-0 loss at Colchester means they are nine points off the top and outside the play-off places.

GOAL OF THE WEEK

EBERE EZE scored not just one but two very special goals as Wycombe won 3-1 at Cambridge. His first was a well- struck right-foot volley that sailed into the top corner from outside the box. His second, from a similar position, bent into the same top corner. Two sensational strikes.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

DAvID ARTELL. ‘That is what you get if you keep going and keep believing. We were in the ascendancy for much of the game, didn’t give up and got our reward,’ said the Crewe boss after the 1-0 win over Stevenage that ended his side’s five-match losing run.

STAT OF THE WEEK

SIX games unbeaten in a row for Luton, with five wins, the latest a 2-0 triumph at Accrington.
