His British wife’s big worry? How it will hit her business

- From Daniel Bates in New York

THE British wife of Harvey Weinstein is facing a battle to save her fashion brand from being tarnished by the allegations against her husband.

Sources have said Georgina Chapman, 41, is ‘very upset, but not rushing to file for divorce’.

It comes after Weinstein claimed last week his family was standing by him ‘100 per cent’

Others – speaking before a slew of new allegations emerged – said that a break-up is ‘inevitable’ and that she is currently weighing up her options.

The couple were yesterday said to be holed up in a Los Angeles hotel together.

Miss Chapman is ‘really mad’ at her husband’s behaviour and does not feel that she can forgive him, according to People magazine, quoting unnamed sources.

The designer is said to particularly fear for her high-end clothing brand Marchesa, which is loved by many of the women who have starred in her husband’s films.

Without Wei ns t e i n’ s contacts, she reportedly fears she will not have access to the same A-list stars who wear her clothes.

A TV fashion source said: ‘Harvey is the one with all the friends. It’s going to be a tough time for her and Marchesa’. Miss Chapman grew up in Richmond, southwest London, and was educated at the private Marlborough College in Wiltshire.

She met Weinstein in 2003 and they married four years later, going on to have two children, India Pearl, seven, and Dashiell Max Robert, four. A source told People that Miss Chapman is ‘furi- ous and embarrassed’. The same source said that divorce ‘doesn’t even seem like an option’ but another said a break-up was ‘inevitable’.

A third insider told People: ‘Georgina talks about the incidents like they happened before they were married. Still, it’s very sad and disappointing to Georgina that Harvey has behaved like this.

‘It’s not anything that can just be forgotten, or forgiven. Right now, she seems very focused on Marchesa. Marchesa is her baby too.

‘It’s a family business. She has several friends working for Marchesa and also her brother. She needs to keep business going.

‘She will do what she can to keep her personal life away from Marchesa’.

A New York fashion publicist who did not want to be named told the Hollywood reporter: ‘ No star is ever going to want to wear the brand again’.

Weinstein is good friends with Vogue editor Anna Wintour and the two have cohosted fashion and Democratic political fundraising events.

Miss Chapman and Weinstein are regular guests at Miss Wintour’s annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute galas.

The comments about Mr Weinstein’s marriage contrast with his own upbeat assessment over the weekend.

He said that he has had some ‘really tough conversations’ with his family but that Miss Chapman was standing by him.

He has also said she will be one of the people to ‘kick my a**’ and help him become a better man.
