THERE’S a real magic in walking out over a l landscape and realising how it must once have looked, millions of years ago. Ray Mears gives us that view as he sets out ono a seven-part trek across this amazing ‘living museum’ of a coun country. As he strides across what was once an ancient sea bed in Western Australia, Mears is surrounded by fossils — look, there’s the tooth of an extinct shark (megalodon) that was bigger than a double-decker bus.
