in his own words . . .

What about Leicester’s bid for Jonny Evans?

ThErE was a bid and it was left to the club. Would Jonny have gone to leicester? I don’t know, you’d have to speak to Jonny. he has two years left on his deal and I don’t think anything’s going to happen for a while. I haven’t got a problem with Jonny.

How is Rondon after finally scoring in the league?

hE played 180 minutes for Venezuela so we gave him a couple of days’ grace to see his family. Salomon needed that goal, he got it against Watford, and he’s done well against leicester.

What do you put your side’s poor form down to?

WE haven’t had the breaks. There’s such a thin line between success and failure in the Premier league. It’s the greatest league in the world because it’s the toughest but it doesn’t mean we haven’t been doing good things on the pitch.

Do you prefer four or five at the back?

ThE basis of everything is what suits the players available. We can be flexible. It’s waiting for oliver Burke and nacer chadli to come back and try to fit them in. As told to LAURIE WHITWELL
